MY CANADA was
on hiatus for a month or two after some surgery sidelined my blogging efforts
while doing physiotherapy. Now able to
walk and spend time at a computer desk,
hopefully our readers are still available and willing to consider my
opinions on a variety of federal, provincial and municipal issues together with
a cross section of other subjects.
Always feel free to comment on this website, our Facebook page or
Twitter if you agree or disagree with the subjects expressed.
We received an email today that many if not a majority of people would endorse and probably pass on as the instructions suggest. Our first inclination was to pass the well designed communiqué on to Facebook and Twitter friends thus supporting the premise involved that appears to protect Canada in a manner most citizens feel is important. Whether the changes should be legislated or simply enforced by some sort of police or military action is unclear.
Would attacking a situation like the email distributed to everyone with concerns about the situation accomplish anything? Many of us probably agree with the premise and would like nothing better than to tell all of those immigrants from other countries to either live by Canadian standards as outlined or go back where each and every one of them came from in the first place. But that is not the solution.
To accomplish the changes outlined, Canada’s history with regard to the past and dealing with immigration, must be taken into consideration. Most older seniors still alive today will remember the post WW2 era when displaced persons (DP’s) arrived in Canada from war torn Europe, Asia and the pre-Israel Middle East. Strong minded Canadians in those days wanted to get rid of the DPs that lived a different lifestyle. Many came to this country accepting any job available at the going rate while living in a single house with several families sharing cost. Eventually those immigrant families began building their own homes and integrated into the already appreciated society Canadians created over the decades. The newcomers had different customs and practices that many Canadians of the time did not agree with, or want to accept. However, offspring of those refugee DPs of the time soon became friends, neighbours and leaders in every aspect of Canadian life. East European family names permeate our business, commercial, entertainment, sports and cultural world much like people with Asian names are doing today.
The solution is to prove to the new, larger and more diverse number of immigrants and refugees from dictatorships and military regimes that Canada is the tolerant, character building and world influencing nation most new Canadians came here to find.
Nothing but turmoil will result from trying to superimpose our traditional world-envied lifestyle on those that lived in a different culture before choosing Canada as a place to re-establish. There will be some unacceptable individuals that will garner a group of followers, but with the strength of conviction that moulded this country into a the renowned best country in the world, the end result cannot possibly be less than an even more desirable place to live. We will undoubtedly find some of the traditions and practices of today’s new immigrants will become a part of a new Canadian lifestyle. It is not the people coming to Canada that need to comply with our values. It is the small number of elected vote hungry politicians and their followers or base that is the largest threat to traditional Canada. Real change can happen with tolerance, negotiations and the desire of everyone for peace over violence. Recent Canadian governments seem intent to change the face that Canada reflected.

You never know how STRONG you are......until being strong
Is the ONLY choice you have.
This is My Country - Canada..... (A copy was sent to Prime Minister Stephen Harper)
This is My Country - Canada.... .
My grandfather watched as his friends died in WW1, my father watched as his friends died in WW II,
And I watched as young Canadians and their friends died in Afghanistan. None of them died for
A Foreign Flag. Everyone died for the Canadian flag and it's values.
Bike laws in almost all Canadian Jurisdictions require bike riders to wear safety helmets.
You guessed it... People who are required to wear turbans are exempt because a helmet
Is not designed to be worn over a turban.
Some ten years ago a Commission was assembled in Ontario (lobbied for by Muslims)
To investigate the practicality of allowing Canadians of the Muslim faith to practice
Sharia law. The Commission head (a former Attorney General in the Bob Rae NDP Government)
Presented the Commission findings to the succeeding Provincial Government to allow
Limited use of Sharia Law for Canadians of the Muslim faith. The recommendation was rejected.
It should never have gone that far and in fact, the issue should never have reached
A discussion stage, let alone the formation of a commission.
It is politically incorrect to wish our fellow Canadians Merry Christmas.
And the list goes on and on... Enough is enough.
The below e-mail message needs to be viewed by everyCanadian; and every Canadian
Needs to stand up for Canada.
We've bent over to appease the new Canadian immigrants long enough.
I'm taking a stand. I'm standing up because the tens of thousands who died fighting in wars
For this country, and for the Canadian flag for which it stands.
If you agree, stand up with me.
If you disagree, then just delete it.
And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message.
A Map Of My Country:
Let me make this perfectly clear!
THIS IS MY COUNTRY!
And, because I make this statement,
IT DOES NOT
Mean I'm against immigration!!!
YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY!
But:
Welcome! To come through legally:
1. Get a sponsor!
2. Get a place to lay your head!
3. Get a job!
4. Live By OUR Rules!
5. Pay YOUR Taxes!
And...
6. Learn the LANGUAGE like immigrants have in the past!!!
And...
7. Please don't demand that we hand over our lifetime
Savings of Old Age Pension Funds to you.
If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone,
Then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!
When will Canadians STOP giving away THEIR RIGHTS???
We've gone so far the other way...
Bent over backwards not to offend anyone.
But it seems no one cares about the CanadianCITIZEN that's being offended!
WAKE UP CITIZEN that's Canada !!!
If you agree.... Pass this on.
If you don't agree.. Delete It !!!
