Today's human savagery and political power mongering

My Canada will actually be My World or planet this month. The subject matter is the civility or perhaps savagery of the human animal. Yes we are animals just like the other creatures inhabiting the planet earth. In our own minds man is much more civilized and intelligent than any other animal. But is that assumption really true? There is rarely, if ever, a time when one human factor isn’t fighting and killing another group for political or another form of dominance, almost always for financial purposes. Possession of wealth automatically means domination over those less wealthy. Without financial accumulation the people identified by nationality are hard pressed if not unable to educate youth and sustain life without hunger and shelter making it impossible. World leaders evolve after developing dominating firearms creating the ability to enforce wishes and traditions on the less fortunate.
Maybe That's one reason we could be considered less civilized by other universe life form. Perhaps that is the reason we actually have never had contact from other entities if such is out there in space. With hundreds of millions of other planets and almost as many stars it doesn’t make sense to think we are the only life form. Any intelligent something (by our standards if that really means anything) observing political working on this planet would be amazed that humans keep increasing in numbers while destroying each other for almost any reason. But then again, scientists tell us Earth is billions of year old and mankind as we know it has only been around for a couple of hundred years or maybe a little longer since initially beginning to develop into the human animal.
Man doesn’t think that way of course. As far as we are concerned advancements such as space exploration, product and science advancements, together with civility, such as religious beliefs often used to control and direct actions of the masses, make humans civilized, at least by human assumption. Since we haven’t discovered another intelligent life form in the limited scope of man's exploration in this vast universe many, except inquisitive scientist maybe, rule out finding anything matching our intelligence except possibly fictitious Sci-Fi space characters mostly armed with powerful weaponry and ready to attack, similar to real people actions while inhabiting this planet.
If an entity is not armed and able to destroy anything that is a perceived a threat, we seem to feel it can’t survive in space. But, is that really the right way of thinking, or is the human concept perhaps the reason we are not part of the universe life forms. Our vicious nature and need to kill to defend ourselves and everything about life on earth might be keeping more advanced entities from making contact. Of course those thoughts are all speculation and nothing based on fact.
Returning to the subject of politics world-wide observation is worrisome a least scary at most. The American Donald Trump era, Britain and Europe looking for a Brexit agreement, Russian incursion into neighboring nations, southern Asia regional battles and so on all indicate viciousness of humans for political purposes. The United States of America is currently the most glaring example. Militarily stronger and far more financially secure than most nations except possible China that seems to be catching up in leaps and bounds, America has been able to almost dictate the direction of almost every other nation or group of nations since becoming the world's super power after World War II. However world history states every world dominating nation or alliance eventually succumbs to its own failures or another nation or alliance successfully overcoming the current leader's strengths.
Humans have a tendency, or maybe a need to follow the leader when it comes to the way most want to live. Offering the chance of a better way of life or possibly succumbing to another's ability to enforce their will through military might usually perpetuates change every century or so. Change is happening so rapidly recently major changes could be on the horizon. Those changes never come gradually. As a rule they happen almost overnight. So perhaps when we awaken tomorrow, next week, next month, year or longer the world will have changed or evolved depending on your point of view.
