Do today's politics mean war and more?

My Canada will be less than positive this month-end. Probably not a revelation to many readers but negativity causes a great deal of problems with the current political atmosphere in Canada not to mention the US and most other world countries.
The source of today's problems appears to be Trump, Ford and Kenney to a lesser extent to mention a few. These three don’t believe in following traditional protocol but seem bent on making changes believing that’s what the electorate putting them into office wants and needs. That is not the real truth since all three were elected as lesser problematic appearing replacements for long standing or current ruling leaders. As new elections come about it will be interesting to see what the electorate really wants.
For the changes to be happening so often in many jurisdictions is a solid indication people want change and the mentioned recently elected leaders were handiest alternatives. None of the three appeared to have a solid pre-planned agenda that would sweep them into power under traditional circumstances. But they did make it into the jobs currently occupied meaning voters have spoken and are willing to give each a chance to make a difference. It is just unfortunate so few Canadians, in particular, practice voting in elections. Like some countries in the southern hemisphere perhaps election laws making it mandatory to vote might make a huge difference in the type of political leaders that could emerge under the circumstances.
But, on the other hand, has the electorate really decided these are the people needed for the future or will the next election lead to more change and new leaders. Only time will tell the full story or perhaps this is a reflection of the future non-traditional political scene in all democracies. History records the rise and fall of all ruling regimes and indicates the life of democracies is approximately two hundred years. Since American democracy actually began after the civil war in 1776 the current lifespan of this democratic experience is already past its best before date. Maybe that is the reason Donald Trump has become the country's president. Since there doesn't seem to be anyone rising to challengeable prominence to seriously challenge Trump's re-election in 2020 maybe the end of America's democratic experience will become the kind of dictatorship Trump seems to foster with inconsistency, lies and extreme bullying tactics.
The major problem with the scenario is Trump's actions could easily lead to a major global war and once again history does support the possibility of another war in the near future if the tradition of major wars ever few dozen decades becomes reality again. It seems mentally unstable, later considered crazy individuals, rise to power for unexplained and rarely challenged reasons making many wonder if Trump doesn't fit the picture. After all, the world population is expanding at an unprecedented rate and history again seems to dictate war occurs to keep the population in some sort of balance.
Maybe the decline of religion combined with the increase in corporations, nations and everything else trying to become more affluent is leading to the end of the world the way humans living today fashioned living. We began this article with a warning of negativity so only time will tell if the dire circumstances outlined will transpire to any degree. Maybe Trump, Ford and the rest of that political cult will disappear or fall victim to democracy of some sort that the people decide is more acceptable. Let's just hope the inevitable change isn't a result of another world war which is a distinct possibility if history really does repeat.
